Hey Mike! Good to see you here. We were lucky – just two days without power. Some people in Louisville STILL without power after 7 days…people in Paducah and in Grayson County probably won’t have power for another month. It will be spring by then!
We did not do any better on the eastern side of the state. Johnson county still has areas without power ten days after the storm. We haven’t seen FEMA or the Red Cross in the area were i live. We did what we always do in Kentucky, helped each other and was thankful to the lord for what we had.
Hi Tim – wow – I haven’t heard. Anything we can do here? Let us know! Louisville still has people without power, too. I’ve had a few people email me to tell me this is Obama’s fault, and I had to laugh. The President declared the entire state a disaster area on Wed. night, and it was up to Beshear and counties to ask for help. Another reason I had to laugh at those folks was because we DID take care of each other here, too – we never saw FEMA or National Guard, nada – but we didn’t need them. All we really needed was to have power turned back on. In the meantime, we took care of our own up and down the entire street. We’re a mixed political bag on this street, but politics had nothing to do with it. Nothing. The complaints I heard were from outside the state, from people who weren’t affected.
