I just got back from my South African trip. While in South Africa, my brother’s family and I took a long trek way into the Kalahari Desert , to the great new Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park. This park has become one of the largest in the world, spreading into Nambia, South Africa and Botswana.
The Kalahari is pulsating, totally wild and yes, there is no internet or cell phone reception. Needless to say, I did go through major Net withdrawal symptoms for a few days.
The wildlife is amazing, the night skies are so sharp and the stars seem so close that it feels like you can touch the Milky Way. You’ll find two shots below, but if you click on the link to the next page, I’ll show you even more photos.

Finally, what I think is my best shot. Lions love to lie on the sand roads or next to them after they have eaten. My brother pulled up about 3 feet from him. I rolled down the window. He just stared at me like I did not even exist and I took this shot.
