McCain ad

The recent attacks initiated by McCain and the GOP on Obama and his wife represent the exact reason why we want someone different in the highest office of this country. We are sick - literally sick - of the hatred engendered in these political races…energy spent on attacks rather than on issues is the OLD regime. We want logic, sanity, rational thought, intelligence and the ability to be flexible in times of peace and war. McCain has represented the antithesis to all those attributes. Here are two examples of attacks initiated just recently (go ahead and follow the links - this is a free country, last we heard):

The “Unconditional” meeting ploy: At no time did Obama state that he’d meet with hostile leaders under unconditional circumstances. If so, please inform. What we dislike about this ad is that McCain is seeking funds through his blatant attack, a tactic that reminds us of televangelists who prey on emotions - especially fear.

Planned attacks on Michelle Obama: Go ahead, GOP - give it your best shot. Attacking a woman, after all, will endear you to so many people. When Barack comes to her defense, it will just make him appear stronger and the GOP will take on a lovely misogynistic veneer.

Obama has begun a Website that addresses and counters these attacks on his integrity and on his family. This is a brilliant move, as it appears that many people are willing to believe blatantly hateful remarks rather than to demand that both parties address the issues that affect THEIR VOTERS. The more we hear about these attacks, the more we know that the GOP will not address those issues any more than they have over the past eight years.

BTW - Linda believes that many of the so-called “Hillary supporters” who are now backing McCain are - in reality - GOP in sheep’s clothing. How can we believe that they were Hillary supporters previous to this? Any proof?
