Ironies in the World of Sin

category: Lifestyles, News

I find it ironic that the New York Governor apologizes over allegations that he’s been consorting with a prostitution ring at the same time the Pope delivers new parameters for sinful behaviors. Did the right hand know what the left hand was doing? “There are many other sins that are perhaps much more grave that don’t have anything to do with sex - that have to do with life, that have to do with the environment, that have to do with justice.” Gov. Eliot Spitzer should lift his head from the muck of everyday sin and deal with something larger, perhaps?

    Hey Linda

This Eliot Spitzer situation is quite perplexing. For someone to have fought most of his life against prostitution, set up 1000s of wiretaps and then too; visit a escort site himself, make the phone call, send emails and txt messages, pay for the out of state transport of the women makes me think that he actually wanted to get caught.

Hey Russell - this is a deep situation, one that Bill Maher addressed either last week or the previous week. The question was about why religious or fanatical folks tend to get caught doing the very thing that they stood against. I think we’ve all seen a lot of this, where ’straight’ religious leaders are found to be gay, where “family-oriented” fanatics were found to be holding court with prostitutes, etc. ad nauseum. They way I figure, you get in the public eye, then you probably should walk the talk, right?
