The screenshot above was captured from Senator Bryant’s site, Republican, South Carolina. Does Bryant really represent all Republicans in South Carolina? Or has he regressed to a childhood where he felt persecuted, with a need to persecute others in a decidedly bipartisan manner? According to Huffington Post:
Does he think Obama is actually has terrorist ties? “I don’t think he’s tied to terrorists, no. I do think he’s probably more sympathetic to nations that allow terrorism than I would prefer. And that’s why I posted it. Am I saying that him and Osama work together? No, I’m not saying that at all.”
And what religion does Bryant think Obama practices? “That’s a good question. I don’t know.”
The photo, with a caption claiming the difference between them is “just a little B.S.”, has been removed from Bryant’s official website, then put back up again.
Bush currently is holding a press conference, where he is Democrat-bashing, chuckling at his own bad jokes, and demeaning the American public in general. But, before you feel offended, consider the source. When asked if he thought that offshore drilling will damage reefs, Bush replied that technology exists today that will spare the reefs. Drillers can bypass the reefs and drill “horizontal holes” that will spare those delicate eco-structures.
While horizontal holes might work for the Alaska pipeline, I have a difficult time imagining horizontal holes in the ocean that won’t disturb reef structures. Vertical holes, maybe, but not horizontal. Amazingly, none of the press in attendance questioned Bush’s logic. Perhaps they were asleep.
My daughter pointed me to a video produced by ZapRoot where a Bush administration “fat to fuel” program was parodied. Well, the Bush administration part was a parody, but with a little investigation we discovered that human fat is, indeed, being used as fuel and that this opportunity has become an underground bio-request between one Norwegian company and one Miami Hospital. One story we found in Aftenposten stated:
More than sixty percent of Americans are overweight and the Norwegian’s firm in Miami, Florida is in the process of signing an agreement with US hospital giant Jackson Memorial. This deal would give Venøy & Co. around 11,500 liters of human fat a week from liposuction operations, which is enough to produce about 10,000 liters of bio-diesel.
Does it really work? It does. Just ask skipper Pete Bethune, who has contributed his own fat to produce 100 milliliters of biofuel. He’s used this fuel to power Earthrace, a powerboat currently on its way around the world in an attempt to beat the current world record. But how far will this fat for fuel quest go? According to the video on ZapRoot, you can count on McDonalds for bio-source food products and you can count further on a few buttocks for your gasoline. To stay skinny, after all, would be very unpatriotic in this era of peak oil.
