“All great biblical stories begin with Genesis,” [conservative] George Will wrote in the National Review in 1980. “And before there was Ronald Reagan, there was Barry Goldwater, and before there was Barry Goldwater there was National Review, and before there was National Review there was Bill Buckley with a spark in his mind, and the spark in 1980 has become a conflagration.”
Couldn’t have said it better than George Will when it comes to the birth of modern active conservatism. William Frank Buckley, Jr., the genesis of many a great conservative idea and the author of 55 books, dead today at age 82. Read more at the New York Times. Don’t rush to edit the Wikipedia entry on his life, as the death date has already been added.

Ok - so this Hema site doesn’t contain a Google map (which seems imperative to any site that wants to appear “mashup cool” these days), but it does show some nice work in JavaScript and Flash. Just let it load, sit back, and be amazed.

But you haven’t switched over to OpenOffice.org. Quite yet.
I’m here to help. Think of this as a virtual guide, the written version of me coming over to your house on a Sunday afternoon to help get to know OpenOffice.org and figure out all the things you’re not quite sure about. Sit down with this article this weekend and in a few hours you’ll feel refreshed, open sourced, and able to hold your head high when you run into those roving gangs of open source supporters.

We’ve included 4 examples of what he considers his best work, including his “Titanic” shown above. Thomas advised us that “he is self taught” He wanted us to share this with you. Following the ‘gallery,’ he’ll provide you with a screenshot of the program and more information about how to use this program!
